Aim: In this study, it was aimed to examine nurses' perception of professional values and the factors affecting this perception.

Materials and Methods: The sample of this descriptive study consisted of 228 nurses working at Bayburt State Hospital and Kelkit State Hospital between October 2019 and November 2019. The data of the study were collected between these dates by using the "Nurse Information Form" and "Nurses' Professional Values Scale (NPVS)". T-test, ANOVA, and Tukey Post Hoc tests were used to analyze the data.

Results: It was found that 52.2% of the nurses were 30 years of age or younger, 78.9% were women, and the mean HPDS total and sub-dimension scores of women were significantly higher than men. The mean HPDS total score of the nurses was found to be 152.5±20.81. The mean HPDS total score of the married nurses was 153.96±21.31, and the sub-dimension of responsibility was significantly higher. The total mean score and sub-dimension mean score of the nurses who followed scientific publications in the field of nursing or health were found to be significantly higher than those who did not (p<0.05).

Conclusion: Considering the differences affecting the professional values of nurses, it is recommended to organize continuing education and scientific activities related to professional values.
