Aim: This study was conducted to determine the relationship between urinary incontinence severity and frailty levels in geriatric women.

Material and Methods: This correlational study was conducted with 142 women aged 65 years and older in the geriatric unit of a university hospital between 19 November 2015 and 30 August 2017. Data were collected face-to-face using Introductory Information Form, Edmonton Frail Scale (EFS-TR), and Incontinence Severity Index (ISI). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Spearman correlation.

Results: In the study, it was determined that approximately half (48.6%) of geriatric women were frail, and one-quarter were in the pre-frail stage. It was found that 81% of women had a complaint of urinary incontinence that continued for one year or more. As the body mass index and the number of drugs used increased, urinary incontinence severity increased; as the number of pregnancies and medications they used increased, the level of frailty increased. In addition, there was a significant positive relationship between women's urinary incontinence severity and quantity and frailty levels of women (p = 0.000).

Conclusion: The study's results emphasize the importance of comprehensive evaluation of the urinary incontinence status and frailty levels of geriatric women by the multidisciplinary health team and counseling on this issue.
