Urinary incontinence is evaluated as involuntary lose of urine. Urinary incontinence, the incidence of which increase with age, which is more common in women is a condition affecting the quality of life negatively. Physiological and psychological changes occuring with aging can be effective in the development of urinary incontinence. The goal in treatment of urinary incontinence is to provide continence. Drug therapy, surgical therapy and behavioral therapy are used for the treatment of urinary incontinence. Nurses have responsibilities in implementation and follow-up of drug therapy, surgical therapy and behavioral therapies. As long time is needed to see the effectiveness of behavioral therapies, they are the treatment methods which are not preferred in clinical practice. Having present nurses who have education for working in this area, can be effective for making behavioral therapies become prominent.
