Aim: This study was conducted to evaluate the relationship between the perception of professionalism and commitment to professional values in nursing students. Material and Methods: This descriptive study was conducted with 278 nursing students. The study data was collected using a data collection form, the Nurses Professional Values Scale - Revised (NPVS-R) and the Inventory of Professional Attitude at Occupation (IPAO). Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal-Wallis test and Spearman’s correlation analysis were used to analyze the data. Results: The median age of students was 20 (18-35). It was determined that the median of total IPAO score was increased when the students perceived nursing as a professional occupation, thought about practicing nursing after graduation, were fourth-year nursing students, and planned to make an academic career and become a member of professional organizations (p<0.05). Additionally, the median total NPVS-R and IPAO scores were found to be high among the respondents with a special interest in nursing and who were female (p<0.05). According to correlation analysis, a positive relationship was found between NPVS-R and IPAO total scores (p<0.05). Conclusion: It was concluded from the study that nursing students who adopted professionalism are committed to professional values, and such a commitment was particularly apparent among the students with a special interest in the nursing profession.
